Lovin’ the Beach
There are many great places to stay on Martha’s Vineyard. The Island doesn’t have your traditional hotel “Holiday Inn”, but it does have many accommodations. We are hoping that most of our guest stay in Oak Bluffs. This is a cute town on the island that is more affordable and has many shops, restaurants and the beach in walking distance. For those traveling in groups you may want to look into renting a house for the weekend.
It is suggested to reserve your hotel room before the summer months. There are plenty of available rooms at the moment, but these may book up in June.
Here are some suggestions:
1. Admiral Inn - 508.693.6825 http://www.admiral-benbow-inn.com/
We have blocked of some rooms here until April 30th.
2. Dockside Inn - 1800.245.5957 http://www.vineyardinns.com/dockside.html
*Mention our name when booking
3. Island Inn - 508.693.2002 http://www.islandinn.com/
*reservations available online
4. Pequot Hotel - 508.693. 5087 http://www.pequothotel.com/

Planes
If you are traveling by plane from the midwest it would be ideal to fly straight to Martha’s Vineyard, but this may not be the most affordable route…pretty, yes, cheap…not so much.
If you are flying from NYC, Jet Blue offers flights from NYC to Logan to Martha’s Vineyard. If you book in advance this is affordable.
We suggest flying into the Boston Logan Airport.
Trains “BUS”
From the Logan Airport and NYC Port Authority you can take a Bus to Woods Hole, MA where you then hop on he ferry.
http://www.peterpanbus.com/tickets/fares.php
The bus takes about 2 hours from Boston and 7 hours from NYC, depending on traffic. Many of people take the bus to Martha’s Vineyard you just have to allot enough time for travel.
Automobiles
If you are driving from New York City takes about 4 to 5 hours to Woods Hole, MA where you catch the ferry. If driving from Boston it takes about 2 hours depending on traffic. When you get to Woods Hole you can either take your car on the ferry (EARLY RESERVATION NEEDED) or park your car at the Palmer Avenue Lot for the weekend.
You can rent cars on the island. http://www.mvol.com/directory/transportation/car_rentals/
Ferry
If you plan on taking your car on the ferry ,you MUST RESERVE A SPOT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. It costs around $100 to do this, but you will have a car on the island and will not have to worry about transportation. If you are just taking yourself on the ferry enjoy the ride it’s a beautiful one.
For ferry schedules and reservation go to http://www.steamshipauthority.com/ssa/
The ferry will take you to either Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs depending on the schedule. There are taxis waiting for passengers at each dock.
Totally Different Option from NYC
You can take the fast ferry from Rhode Island!
